Poppy turns 1 year old πŸŽ‚

Poppy is celebrating its first birthday on January 15, 2019. After a very nice and exciting year, it is time to look back on the past 365 days.

Many people have become acquainted with electric driving for the first time. Others have driven a scooter for the first time and everyone has experienced shared mobility. You can read what we have achieved with Poppy here.

Since the launch of our app at 8 a.m. on January 15, 2018, a lot has evolved until now. We went from 0 to more than 20.000 registered users. 350 cars became 350 cars and 25 scooters. Our data app also became a Bluetooth app so you could open the vehicles faster. πŸš€

Our home zone has been optimized a few times and you can now park right in the centre, in Interparking Meir, for free. You received several free driving minutes as a thank you: from Valentine to Christmas, from a Polaroid photo to our cogwheel that was on different places such as festivals and Kinepolis Antwerp. 🎁

You could buy Poppy credit for the first time in advance on Black Friday and we made Roy’s fourth birthday a little nicer. Some of our customers are now also proudly wearing a Poppy sweater or wearing a Poppy Christmas sweater during the holidays. πŸŽ…

The numbers πŸ”’

To get into specifics: Poppy has more than 20,000 registered users after one year. All these users have covered more than 2 million kilometres in the first year of Poppy. That is no less than five times the distance from the earth to the moon! πŸŒ–

Since Poppy is a CO2 neutral company (in addition to our environment-friendly cars, our CO2 emissions are reduced to 0 through our collaboration with CO2logic), we have not emitted CO2 this year. If everyone had driven their own car, more than 232 tons of CO2 would have been emitted. With Poppy, we saved 232 tons of CO2 this year. πŸ’š

Finally, we would like to inform you that on a weekly basis, most trips are made on a Friday. If we add up all 52 weeks, December has been our best month. πŸ“†

You can find all the numbers in this clarifyingΒ infographic:

Let’s go for an even better second year with Poppy. With better and more environment-friendly mobility. Thank you for being there from the beginning! πŸ‘Š

Are self-driving cars the future of mobility? πŸ€–

Self-driving cars are the future, they say. But is that really so? And if so, will the street scene be full with self-driving cars?

Poppy expands to Brussels πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺ

One year and three months after the launch in Antwerp, Poppy will now expand its activities to Brussels. This is what changes for you.

How do I use a Poppy kick scooter? πŸ›΄

Next to cars and scooters, you can now also use Poppy kickscooters in Antwerp and Brussels. Therefore Poppy is the first free-floating platform in Europe that offers sharing cars, sharing scooters and sharing kickscooters in one single platform.
